I’ve had the pleasure of working with you on several remodeling/building projects for my home and cannot overstate the quality of your work and the professionalism with which you planned and implemented the projects.
The first project was turning my basement – a vast gapping hole – into a lovely multi-purpose living space. Not only is the workmanship precise, the additional touches in trim work and creative approaches to those unusual aspects that exist in a basement were amazing.
The next project was a portico on my patio offering shaded space and leading directly into the house through patio doors. It is exactly how I pictured it would be.
I desperately needed a garage – but given the design of my house and the original plan for a detached garage – building an attached garage was a huge challenge. You spent numerous hours over months trying to find a solution that was practical and that I would be happy with – and which I could afford. The garage is now up.
And the next phase is nearly underway. You are designing a deck flowing from the house to the garage with a small covered walkway.
The area between the garage and the house, adjacent to the deck, will become a small garden courtyard.
Tim, your approach is to assure quality and precision of construction, to listen to your clients, and to offer them your advice.
I am always totally confident of the outcome of your work. I know that you are highly ethical, totally trustworthy, and have the concern for me that you would for a family member or good friend.

I have a sixty-five year old home with a flat-roof sun porch that has a history of water leaks. Numerous high profile area roofers have “assessed” the issue, “corrrected” the problem with assurance that there will be no more leakage. As recently as March 2011, a well known roofer “repaired the source of the problem.” Less than a month later, there was again a water problem.
Subsequently, I interviewed a plethora contractors, compared and analyzed their proposals/solutions. There was no question. When I conferred with Tim Boelkow and Elton Smith, I knew they not only understood the depth and breadth of the problem but possessed the wherewithall to tackle it. My neighbor whose home is up-scale/high quality recommended Tim’s Quality Home Improvements. In addition, my neighbor read all of the previous proposals and thought each had parts of the solution but not the gestalt. Tim and Elton had it all! There was absolutely no doubt. I had found the “A-Team!”
When the work commenced, much to our chagrin we discovered that the sun porch was “under-built,” a euphemism for faulty construction. Again I was so fortunate to have the expertise of both Tim and Elton. Immediately they consulted with their architect/engineer to strategize and develop a plan. If you can imagine, they were apologetic – apologetic for a pre-existing problem! The team worked feverishly to design the new structure, meet with village inspector, adher to village mandates, and present architectural plans to the Village Board of Review! Throughout the entire process although I was over-whelmed, Tim and Elton were nurturing, caring, reassuring, steadfast, and always professional. I was so fortunate that “my contractors” possessed the knowledge, skill, depth and breadth. I was in good hands with Tim’s Quality Home Improvements. Having been in managerial positions in my professional career, I know that seamless coordination of services is a result of organization and countless hours of attending to details. This seamless coordination of services from dumpsters to scheduling of skilled tradesmen was flawless.
I shudder to think what could have happened with the other contractors. As an example, one of the contractors informed me that I didn’t need a permit. Even I knew that was misinformation. Tim and Elton intimately know codes. There is no question that all construction/workmanship meets and exceeds code. The Fox Point Village Inspector maintains high standards; each inspection resulted in an “A-Rating.” This was no surprise.
In conclusion, if you’re looking for honest, reliable, conscientious, meticulous, dependable, hard working, worry free, budget sensitive, expert team, look no further. I have found your team.
